Keynote Speaker

This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Steven W. Anderson. from the Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

The Second Coconut to the Head:
The Neural and Cognitive Consequences of Multiple Concussions and Brain Injuries

Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Iowa, followed by 3 years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has been on the Faculty of the Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine since 1995, where he presently is Associate Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience. Dr. Anderson is Director of the Neuropsychological Rehabilitation Laboratory at UIHC, where clinical rehabilitation services are provided for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, and other brain conditions. He has conducted NIH-funded research on the cognitive and emotional consequences of damage to the frontal lobes and other brain areas since 1992, and is the recipient of research awards from the Scottish Rite Masons Alzheimer’s Foundation and the International Neuropsychological Society.
