Secretary's Report


March 12, 2008

I. Attendance:

Attendees: Alysa Platt, Becky Conkright, Ashlea Platt, Kasey Augspurg, and Andie Niemann

II. Old Business: Pay your $5 Dues (if you haven’t already paid) and bring ideas for fundraisers

III. New Business:

a.) Agenda item: Fundraisers Presenter:
 

Discussion: Kasey brought in information on cookie dough sales as our fundraiser. There is no start up cost for this fundraiser. Each member (both present and not present) of the club would be required to sell at least 7 tubs of cookie dough. We will ask the psychology club if they would like to participate in this fundraiser also so that we can save on shipping.

Conclusions: All members agreed this fundraiser fits us well.

b.) Agenda item: T-Shirts Presenter: Alysa
 

Discussion: Alsya showed the group the template for the t-shirt design and discussed cost of the t-shirt.

Conclusions: T-shirts will be ordered, they will be $9 plus tax.

c.) Agenda item: April Activities Presenter: Alysa
 

Discussion: April is National Occupational Therapy Awareness, and Autism Awareness month. We would like to host an activity each week during the month of April. Some suggestions for activities include Autism awareness ribbons, backpack awareness flyers, and using playdoh as a sensory activity.

Conclusions: Each member has a responsibility and will bring information to next meeting.

a.) Agenda item: T-Shirts options. Presenter: Alysa

Discussion: We discussed different options for t-shirts; where to purchase, what to say on them and what color they should be.

Conclusions: We decided that the t-shirts will be purple with white lettering. On the front they will say OT (the o is in shape of a heart) occupational therapy and on the back will be the common definition of an occupational therapist.

Discussion: Since we are a new group, we have no budget. We need to come up with some fundraising ideas.

February 20, 2008

A. Elected Officers:


i.   President: Alysa Platt
ii.  Vice President: Andie Niemann
iii. Secretary: Rebecca Conkright

B. Meetings:

i. At least once a month, will e-mail about next meeting
ii. Wednesdays seem to work best for everyone
C. Dues
i. We decided to charge $5 for dues this semester.
ii. Pay those to Ashlea Platt and she will set up our account in Financial Aid Office.

D. Activities:


i. April is Occupational Therapy Month and Autism Awareness Month.
ii. We decided to do one activity every week of April such as a simulation activity, put fliers in mailboxes, make sensory items (playdough) and attach a note that explains, backpack awareness week, and pass out ribbons for autism/post statistics.
iii. We talked about attending the Washington University Master's presentations which will be held on April 11th, 2008 (e-mail gbohemier@culver.edu for more information)
iv. We also talked about doing a small fundraiser in March to get our budget going such as a bake sale.
