Constitution of the Culver-Stockton College Occupational Therapy Club

 

Article I: Name

Section (1) This Organization shall be known as the Culver-Stockton College Occupational Therapy Club

 

Article II: Purpose

Section (1) To encourage and promote awareness of the field of Occupational Therapy within the college

and the community.

 

Article III: Membership

Section (1) This organization’s membership shall be open to any pre-occupational therapy student or

any student interested in the field of occupational therapy enrolled at Culver-Stockton College.

 

Article IV: Officers and Duties

Section (1) The Occupational Therapy Club shall have as officers a President, Vice-

President, Secretary, and a Treasurer.

 

Section (2) The duties of the officers are as follows:

 

President:

a. Presides and enforces order at all meetings

b. Calls special meeting with the consent of the members

c. Organizes and coordinates activities and planning for club events in cooperation with other officers and members

d. Delegates responsibilities to club members who are willing and able to carry them out

e. Acts as a liaison with the faculty advisor

f. Approves all bulletin board material

 

Vice President:

a. Presides at all meeting in the absence of the president

b. Reviews, recommends, and takes suggestions as to any changes to the Occupational Therapy Club Charter

c. Keeps track of and provides written event agendas

 

Secretary:

a. Handles correspondence and keeps accurate minutes of all meetings.

b. Regularly checks club mailbox and brings information to meetings

 

 

Treasurer:

a. Handles finances and keeps an accurate record of all financial

matters.

b. Provides a report of the financial status of club at all meetings.

 

Section (3)   All executive officers are expected to lead and coordinate components of major events and to attend all club meetings.  Also all officers are to help maintain the bulletin board so that it is relevant and up to date.

 

Members:

a. Accept responsibility for any tasks volunteered for and/or delegated by the President

b. Attend a majority of the regular meetings as well as all of the special or emergency meetings

c. To participate and volunteer in club sponsored activities

 

Article V: Elections and Voting

Section (1) Any member present at the meeting may vote.

 

Section (2) Election of offices shall occur on a yearly basis. The President, Vice-President, Secretary and

Treasurer will be elected during the first meeting of the fall semester.

 

Article VI: Meetings

Section (1) Regular meetings shall be scheduled with the consent of the voting members.

Section (2) There shall be at least one regular meeting held every calendar month of the school year.

 

Article VII: Membership Dues

Section (1) Dues may be paid at any time during the year.

Section (2) There will be annual dues in the amount of (to be determined on a yearly basis)

Section (3) Any change in the amount of dues is to be by majority vote
