Psych Club met on Wednesday, September 19,2007 at 12:15p.m. in
the Psych
lab. There were 15 students present as well as 2 faculty
members.
Erica was not present, so Alyssa was in charge of the meeting.
The
following issues were discussed:
Ψ
A reminder that dues are $7.00 and cost for a t-shirt is
$10.00
Ψ
Charity ball - Erica spoke to QU's President, unsure of
outcome of the
conversation.
Ψ
Tentative date for the ball is Saturday, November 17.
Ψ
A vote was taken to determine the price for the tickets. It
was
decided that if there is a live band the cost will be $15.00
person/
$25.00 couple. If there is no band but a DJ, the cost will be
$10.00
person/ $15.00 couple.
Ψ
The ball will be held at the Casino Starlight which holds
approx. 800
people. We will try to sell 400 tickets and QU will also try to
sell 400.
Tickets will be sold within the schools first, then open to the
public. A
suggestion was made that those within the community who donate
in some way
be able to reserve their tickets early (if they so choose).

We are to be thinking of ideas of how to approach the
community for
support of the Charity Ball project.

Fundraising was discussed. Two ideas were; participate in
a
phone-a-thon in November - Psych Club can be paid for this
participation.
Also, make a presentation to Student Government - proposal for
charity
funds (representative is needed).

We broke into committees to discuss additional fundraising
ideas. Each
committee was asked to designate a spokesperson to present ideas
later.

and what's new).

also declared that dues are payable to Maggie Vaughn who is the
treasurer.
