Date: 9/19/07

Psych Club met on Wednesday, September 19,2007 at 12:15p.m. in the Psych
lab.  There were 15 students present as well as 2 faculty members.

Erica was not present, so Alyssa was in charge of the meeting.  The
following issues were discussed:

Ψ A reminder that dues are $7.00 and cost for a t-shirt is $10.00

Ψ Charity ball - Erica spoke to QU's President, unsure of outcome of the
conversation.

Ψ Tentative date for the ball is Saturday, November 17.

Ψ A vote was taken to determine the price for the tickets.  It was
decided that if there is a live band the cost will be $15.00 person/
$25.00 couple.  If there is no band but a DJ, the cost will be $10.00
person/ $15.00 couple.

Ψ The ball will be held at the Casino Starlight which holds approx. 800
people.  We will try to sell 400 tickets and QU will also try to sell 400.
Tickets will be sold within the schools first, then open to the public.  A
suggestion was made that those within the community who donate in some way
be able to reserve their tickets early (if they so choose).

Ψ  We are to be thinking of ideas of how to approach the community for
support of the Charity Ball project.

Ψ  Fundraising was discussed.  Two ideas were;  participate in a
phone-a-thon in November - Psych Club can be paid for this participation.
Also, make a presentation to Student Government - proposal for charity
funds (representative is needed).

Ψ We broke into committees to discuss additional fundraising ideas.  Each
committee was asked to designate a spokesperson to present ideas later.

Ψ  Alyssa wanted to remind Dr. Bohemier to update website (member list
and what's new).

Ψ  Next meeting is Wednesday, September 26 at 12:15p.m. in the Psych
lab.

colors on the sheet.  The membership should email Erica with any other t-shirt info such as what you want on the back of the t-shirt.

Ψ Big Brothers Big Sisters is the Charity that we have voted on for the
event.  It looks like it will be held at the Casino Starlight.

Ψ We still need to vote on a date next meeting. The next meeting will be at 12:15 in the lab so we can split up into groups and talk about fun-raisers. Be thinking of ideas for fund raisers for the event and for the psych club.

Ψ We have groups set up for food, decorations and music but we need people
to work on PR.

Thats all for this meeting. See you next week at 12:15

Date: 9/05/07

The meeting was called to order and new Business was discussed:

Ψ First,  we discussed projects for community service, and  Alyssia talked about the volunteer project that was done at Avenues last spring.

Ψ Second, we discussed ideas for the t-shirts. Every agreed that doing a T-shirt would be a great fundraiser.

Ψ Third, we discussed the Charity Ball.  A paper was passed around and votes were taken to select a charity that would benefit from the Ball. Then the members of the psychology club signed up for various planning committees for the Charity Ball.  Finally, it was mentioned that Quincy University is also interested in working with us on the Charity Ball.

Ψ Forth, a vote was taken on the matter of dues. The membership decided that $7.00 would be a reasonable amount.  It was also declared that dues are payable to Maggie Vaughn who is the treasurer.

Ψ Fifth, our new professor in the Psychology Department was introduced.

Ψ Finally, we discussed the possibility of getting an Angel site for Psych Club in order to foster communications among members. (Cindy McCutchan, who works in the college's information Services Department, would be the contact -- ED.)

Ψ The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the psych lab
