I enjoy being a
part of the Culver community, and I am proud of my association with the other
faculty members of the Business Division.
The majors of Business Administration, Finance, Management, and
Accounting have specialized accreditation from the International Assembly for
Collegiate Business Education.
Accreditation from that organization provides external assurance of
quality in those majors. The members of
the Business Division are proud of our association with IACBE. To learn more about IACBE click their link.
There are
three active student groups in the division:
Institute of Management Accountants, (IMA
website) Phi Beta Lambda/Students in Free Enterprise (PBL/SIFE
website) and Association of Computer Machinery (ACM website). Information about these groups and their
various activities can be found elsewhere on the Culver website. These groups are well worth checking
out. The members are involved in a wide
variety of activities, field trips, competitions, and presentations. PBL/SIFE operates a business on eBay called
CustomPride. Check it out.
We are also
pleased every spring to be able to recognize our students who achieve academic
success. Culver-Stockton College
Business Division sponsors a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor
Society. Majors in Business
Administration, Finance, Management and Accounting who are juniors or seniors
and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above are invited to be inducted to SBD
each year.
I practiced
law in Illinois for ten years before I started teaching at the college
level. I am married with four grown
children, two of whom graduated from Culver-Stockton, and two
grandchildren. The members of the
division are always happy to help students with academic and career
advice. The college offers a
professional internship program and a variety of minors to round out an
education. I am always happy to talk
about law school.
The Business
Leadership Exchange is in its second year.
This program brings successful business professionals to campus to give
a presentation to the campus community and to visit classes. This program as been a great success so far,
giving students an opportunity to hear from individuals who have made
successful careers.
Check us out,
call, email, write or visit. We will be
glad to see you.
