Article 3: Officers |
Section 1: |
The elected officers of the Chapter shall be described below. Nominations for all Offices must be posted for one week. They are to be elected by a majority of the voting members at an announced election meeting. If no candidate for an office receives a majority vote, a runoff election shall be held between the two candidates who have the most votes.

Section 2: |
No person shall be elected as an officer of the Chapter who is not a member in good standing at Culver-Stockton College. If an officer shall cease to be qualified during his term, his term shall immediately terminate and his office shall become vacant.

Section 3: |
Officers of the Chapter shall serve for the period of one year. If an officer is unable to complete his term of office, the office must be filled by a general election. The president may appoint a temporary officer at his discretion to fill the office until such an election can be held.

Section 4: |
The Executive Board officers of the Chapter shall be in accordance with the Seven Stars System, which are the President, Vice President for Education, Vice President for Public Relations, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President for Recruitment, Vice President for Scholarship, and Vice President for Loss Prevention.

Section 5: |
The President shall preside at the meetings of the Chapter and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed. He shall preserve order at all times in the meetings and shall be responsible for the observance of the Chapter's purposes and ideals by the undergraduate members of the Chapter.

Section 6: |
The Vice President for Membership Education shall assume the role of the President in the event that he is unable to perform his duties. He shall coordinate the pledge education program, the continual education of the Chapter membership and activities which promote the Chapter's purposes and ideals. He shall supervise the activities of the Membership Development Chairman.

Section 7: |
The Membership Development Chairman shall serve as the Chapter's intramural representative and assist in all activities of the Vice President for Education.

Section 8: |
The Vice President for Public Relations shall have the responsibility to plan, direct and coordinate the public relations efforts. He shall have the ultimate responsibility for all Chapter publications and items for the International Fraternity's publications, as well as Chapter social correspondence. He shall see that a record is kept of all graduates of said Chapter with their addresses and occupations and other such matters which may be of interest of the Chapter or the International Fraternity. He shall supervise the activities of, the Alumni Relations Chairman, the Philanthropy Chairman, and the Social Chairman.

Section 9: |
The Alumni Relations Chairman shall be responsible for updating alumni addresses and files, organizing an alumni gathering at homecoming, organizing Alumni Weekend, communication with the Alumni President, and writing a monthly letter to the alumni keeping in constant communication with them. No member without one full semester of active status shall serve as Alumni Relations Chairman.

Section 10: |
The Philanthropy Chairman shall coordinate the philanthropic effort of the fraternity.

Section 11: |
The Social Chairman shall coordinate all social functions of the Chapter. No member without one full semester of active status shall serve as Social Chairman.

Section 12: |
The Treasurer shall have charge of all financial matters relating to the Chapter, subject to the supervision and under the direction of the Alumni Chapter. He shall keep proper books of account, in accordance with the instructions of the Alumni Chapter, and shall report regularly to the Chapter at its meetings with a correct statement of the financial condition thereof. He shall prepare an annual budget, to be approved by the Alumni Chapter and the Executive Board. He shall supervise the activities of the Assistant Treasurer, and the House Manager.

Section 13: |
The Assistant Treasurer shall be responsible for receiving money, writing and filing receipts, the preparation of fiscal period statements, and assisting the Treasurer in preparation of the budget.

Section 14: |
The House Manager shall be responsible for maintenance of the wing, apartment, annex, or house, clean-up committees, relations with alumni over housing, duties similar to an R. A. Two semesters of experience within the Chapter are required to hold this office, as is living within the official Chapter house.

Section 15: |
The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of the Chapter, its membership and such other administrative matters as shall be of interest or value to the Chapter or the Fraternity and shall conduct the correspondence pertaining thereto. He coordinates the activities of the Historian.

Section 16: |
The Historian shall assume the duties of the Secretary in the event that he is unable to perform his duties. He shall coordinate the preservation of the Chapter's history, keeping updated fills on past events and the activity of the Chapter.

Section 17: |
The Vice President for Recruitment shall have the responsibility to plan, direct, and coordinate the Chapter's efforts of recruiting new members. He shall supervise the activities of the Assistant for Recruitment Chairman.

Section 18: |
The Assistant for Recruitment Chairman shall be directly responsible for the Chapter's Rush training and pre-Rush mailings. He will report directly to and assist the Vice President for Recruitment.

Section 19: |
The Vice President for Scholarship shall coordinate the Chapter's scholarship efforts by establishing academic goals for the Chapter. He shall maintain scholarship files and records, create and evaluate programs to challenge the Chapter and achieve the goals set forth. He shall enforce the Chapter's scholarship policies by bringing forth charges to the Judicial Board upon academic reasoning. He shall be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of those brothers under probation or suspension programs. He shall also supervise the activities of the Librarian.

Section 20: |
The Librarian shall be responsible for the organization and management of all scholarship and officer files. He shall also be responsible for the organization and management of the house library.

Section 21: |
The Vice President for Loss Prevention shall be responsible for limiting the risk of the Chapter and seeing that the Chapter adheres to the International Fraternity's Risk Management Policy.

Section 22: |
The SGA chair shall attend all required SGA events, represent the house, and report back the proceedings to the chapter of all campus activities at the next consecutive house meeting.

Section 23: |
The IFC chair shall attend all required IFC events, represent the house, and report back the proceedings of all Greek life activities at the next consecutive chapter meeting. Senior most representative of Delta Upsilon in IFC will hold this chair.
