Sigma Kappa provides many outstanding national and local programs that will enhance your daughter's collegiate experience.

We know that Greek life may be like speaking Greek so we thought we would break it down and try and help explain it a little better.

Alumna (alum-na) - Female graduate singular.

Alumnae (alum-knee) - Female graduates plural.

Alumnae Advisory Board - Sigma Kappa alumnae who volunteer their time to work with a chapter and provide leadership and continuity.

Alumni (alum-neye) - Male graduates plural. Also refers to a group of men and women.

Alumnus (alum-nus) - Male graduate singular.

Bid Day - The day each sorority welcomes new members.

Sigma Kappa Big Sis - A active member that takes on the responsibility of guiding and supporting a new member to help her through her time before and after she becomes an initiated member of Sigma Kappa.

Sigma Kappa Badge-	The badge is worn by the members during their time of active membership.

Sigma Kappa Coat of Arms-	Adopted in 1911.

The Sigma Kappa Triangle - Sigma Kappa's official magazine. All members receive a lifetime subscription.

Sigma Kappa National Headquarters - National headquarters serves the sorority as its administrative center and repository for sorority archives. National headquarters was established in 1937 in Indianapolis, IN.

Initiation - A ceremony new members experience upon completion of the Promise Program where the true meaning of Sigma Kappa is revealed to the new members.

The New Member Pin - The New Member Pin is worn during the Promise Program where the women are learning to become a active member of Sigma Kappa.

NPC - National Panhellenic Conference.

Panhellenic Council - The governing body of women’s fraternities on the college/university campus. Panhellenic is committed to Greek unity and cooperation.

Recruitment or Rush - A time during which new members are selected.
