Sigma Kappa For Parents |
Sigma Kappa is an organization that has provided a lifelong fraternal experience to young women since November 9, 1874. Sigma Kappa has initiated more than 152,000 women into our sisterhood while providing membership in 108 collegiate chapters and 118 alumnae chapters across the country. Sisterhood, friendship, and personal development are the foundations of Sigma Kappa membership. Each chapter has an excellent new member education program called Promise. This new member program encompasses Sigma Kappa history, values, and traditions with a focus on personal development, academic assistance, and leadership opportunities. Sigma Kappa is committed to providing your daughter with a balanced experience throughout her college career. Our chapter activities are centered on Sigma Kappa’s values, which were defined by our early members more than a century ago. Our values include friendship, loyalty, service, and personal growth…all bound by a promise.
Through tax-deductible donations from alumnae, collegians, parents, and friends, the Sigma Kappa Foundation provides grants to support the Sorority’s educational and leadership programs, making it possible for us to provide training for members on subjects such as time management, study skills, and ethical leadership. The Foundation also supports the philanthropic endeavors of the organization and offers more than 50 scholarships for collegiate and alumnae members. Please feel free to contact us at any time should you have questions or concerns. |
