Goldman Sachs/Capital Markets investing Project

In todays global economy, capital markets are a vital ingredient to maintaining any country’s prosperity. They facilitate growth in productivity, employment, and overall output of nations, ultimately improving the citizens quality of life and confidence in the economy.

As young people take on more financial responsibility and participate in our international economy, having a firm grasp of how capital markets operate is essential. Understanding this subject allows the next generation to be better equipped to attain their financial goals, save for the future, and plan for retirement. Yet this important issue is often overlooked in many classrooms, in part due to the challenge teachers face in presenting the complex topic of capital markets in a relevant and engaging way that holds the students attention.

Recognizing this challenge, the Goldman Sachs Foundation came to SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) with a single objective: create a program that teaches the principles of capital markets to young people.
