Hello Culver-Stockton College!

It is my pleasure to lead our 2011-2012 Student Government Association. Today we start another journey here at Culver-Stockton College, for some of us it is our last journey as students, for some of us it is our first. Wherever you are in your journey here, remember now is the time for you to start making a difference, to do something bold. Together, this year, this day, we can continue to make Culver-Stockton College a better institution than ever before. You have the responsibility of making this campus a pathway to the rest of your life. Our journey starts here but it continues beyond the walls of our classrooms, residence halls and offices into a world desperately in need of a generation who can do something extravagant. I hear around the country voices of skeptics saying that our generation is becoming apathetic and disinterested in anything but social media, sports and technology. Little do they know we have a voice that says we are going to use these tools to change the world � to create a revolution of new ways. There are leaders in our society who believe in our generation and it is our duty to stand up, speak up, and do something inspirational!

Let your voice be heard! Let your actions speak of your passion to change! It is easy to waste our time; our days, our hours or our minutes here, it is so easy to exist instead of live in this place. Because living requires taking risks, doing what seems impossible, getting outside the comfort zone, failing and overcoming barriers. I challenge you to do something bold, do something extravagant, do something spontaneous, do something challenging, do something inspirational, do something different.
